Hi! I’m Irah Kwok. My mission is simple:
To bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be — working as a confident, capable nurse in Canada. My goal is to support Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) by providing valuable resources and guidance to help IENs excel in their nursing careers and envision themselves thriving in leadership roles within the Canadian healthcare system!
You’ve already made it through nursing school. You’ve cared for patients. You’ve built your clinical skills. And now, you’ve set a goal of restarting your nursing career here — in Canada — facing the next big step on your nursing journey: the Inspire Global Assessment’s CBA and SLA.
If you're like most Internationally Educated Nurses I work with, you’re not new to this. You know how to study. You’ve worked hard to earn your credentials. But something about this process feels different.
You’re not just preparing for an exam.
You’re proving yourself — again.
You're trying to translate your knowledge into a new system, in a new country, under pressure.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in the “in-between” — where everything is unfamiliar, the stakes are high, and you're wondering if you'll ever get through it.
Let me be clear: You're not behind. And you're not alone.
I created this space — and the course that comes with it — because I’ve seen firsthand how complex, confusing, and mentally draining this process can be for Internationally Educated Nurses. I’ve walked alongside nurses who were exhausted, second-guessing themselves, and just looking for someone who gets it.
I get it.
I’ve used everything I’ve learned over my 17+ years as a Canadian nurse — from bedside care to leadership, public health, and education — to build a roadmap specifically for you.
About Me
Hi, I’m Irah — a Canadian RN, former Nursing Instructor for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs), private mentor, and certified restorative yoga teacher.
For over 17 years, I’ve walked many paths in the nursing world — from public health and forensic nursing to leadership and education. But my true calling? Helping IENs like you confidently transition into the Canadian healthcare system and reclaim your place in the profession you love.
I created this space because I know how overwhelming it can feel to be on the brink of becoming a nurse in Canada.
You're not just preparing for exams like the CBA, SLA, or NCLEX — you’re rebuilding a career, a dream, and sometimes even your sense of identity.
You’ve already come so far. You’re experienced, educated, and full of heart. But right now, you may be feeling lost in the system — second-guessing yourself, unsure where to begin, and wondering if you’ll ever feel ready.
Let me reassure you:
You’re not behind. You’re not alone. And you absolutely belong here.
Why I Do This Work
I’ve had the honour of working with nurses from all walks of life — as a Clinical Site Lead in public health, a Forensic Nurse Examiner providing trauma-informed care, and a Nursing Instructor teaching leadership and management to IENs.
But my passion has always been education and mentorship. I’ve mentored high school students through YWCA Vancouver, taught psychiatric and trauma-informed care, and now dedicate myself to guiding Internationally Educated Nurses through their biggest transition yet.
I know the challenges intimately — the uncertainty, the cultural adjustment, the mental fatigue, and the heavy expectations you carry. I’ve sat with students in tears, overwhelmed with trying to balance life, work, and study. I’ve helped nurses shift from confusion and fear to calm and clarity.
As a certified restorative yoga teacher, I also bring mindfulness, self-care, and grounding strategies into my coaching. Because nursing is more than passing a test — it’s about finding your voice, your strength, and your sense of belonging again.
About the Course
Through years of experience as a nursing instructor, coach, and mentor, I saw a consistent need: a comprehensive, practical course tailored specifically for IENs preparing for their Canadian licensing journey.
So I built it.
My self-paced online course is designed to help you:
Understand what to expect from the CBA and SLA
Strengthen your critical thinking, clinical judgment and documentation
Review Canadian nursing scope of practice, communication, and delegation
Clinical judgment and decision-making based on Canadian nursing frameworks
Test-taking strategies aligned with CBA and SLA
Communication, delegation, and documentation using Canadian standards like SBAR and FDAR
Realistic practice scenarios and nursing assessments you’ll need to master for simulation and clinical roles
Insights into Canadian workplace expectations, patient-centered care, and cultural communication
This isn’t just exam prep — it’s the roadmap I wish every IEN had from day one.
It’s structured, supportive, and built to help you succeed in both your assessments and your career.
My Approach
What I offer is more than just content review. I help you build strategy, confidence, and emotional resilience. Whether you’re preparing for your Inspire Global Assessment (CBA + SLA), reviewing for the NCLEX, or gearing up for job interviews, I’m here to guide you — every step of the way.
